Astronaut Tim Peake joins Pipette to guide us through a look at our journey into space, and what life is like in space when you’re an actual astronaut (including tales of recycled wee and suction toilets).

Our journey begins with the invention of the main way in which we look up into space – telescopes, charting their journey all the way from the 17th century to the James Webb telescope that’s still on its journey now, and featuring the likes of Galileo and The Moon singing the Lady Gaga parody banger you never knew you needed in your life! Albert Einstein is at Jodrell Bank with a quiz question for you, and Sir Isaac Newton tells you how rockets get into space, while riding a roller coaster and regretting his life choices.

We look at some of the first words spoken when we’ve walked on The Moon (which didn’t always go to plan!), and The Moon himself bids to find out where he came from on his hit show Moon Do You Think You Are?

Elsewhere, we meet the Galactic Gladiators(also featuring real Gladiator Viper), take our first trip in the FARTTIS with Professor Who (featuring a cameo from the author of the Horrible Science books, Nick Arnold), we reveal just how boring a realistic Space Wars movie would be, listen to some of the hits on The Golden Disc we sent into space decades ago, and finally join Einstein again for a song charting our journey to space, and where we might go with it in future (with Tim Peake joining in for good measure!)

After the screening, we invite you to a tour of our Alternate Realities exhibition in the Yorkshire Artspace.
