True crime has never been more popular – or more hotly debated. Hear from the producers of some of the biggest releases of the year to discuss the craft and responsibility at the heart of ethical true crime production.

From The Investigation of Lucy Letby and Grenfell Uncovered on Netflix, Michael Jackson: The Trial on Channel 4 and ITV's Undercover Police Scandal: Love and Lies Exposed, this panel goes behind the scenes of what it takes to make high-impact true crime documentaries under intense scrutiny. Our panellists will explore the realities of developing a story, where the case may be closed but where public interest remains intense. How do producers maintain balance, accuracy and duty of care under that kind of sustained attention? They will explore the responsibility to victims, families and contributors; the evolving global commissioning landscape, and the emerging role of AI in true crime storytelling, asking where the legal, ethical and editorial lines now sit as the genre continues to grow.
