With the support of Screen Ireland, an Irish delegation of producers and directors will make online connections with international industry representatives and experts. Recent Irish documentary successes include To the Moon (Dir: Tadhg O’Sullivan), Father of the Cyborgs (Dir: David Burke), Songs for While I’m Away (Dir: Emer Reynolds),  The 8th (Dir: Aideen Kane, Lucy Kennedy, Maeve O’Boyle), and A Dog Called Money (Dir: Seamus Murphy).

Alex Fegan | Director

I am an Irish filmmaker, particularly interested in Irish identity and what it means to be Irish. My films include, The Irish Pub, Older Than Ireland, Abbeyfealegood and The Confessors.

What is your favourite documentary of all time? 13th

What film/s are you most looking forward to at this year's Sheffield DocFest? 'Gunda' and 'All Light Everywhere' but all of them really!

What do you consider is the best documentary from your nation or region? Older Than Ireland (but I'm biased!)

Daniel Hegarty | Producer / Director

Producer & Documentary Filmmaker at award-winning Irish production company Marmalade Films, focusing on high-quality creative documentaries for international audiences. Daniel is an EAVE 2021 participant.

What is your favourite documentary of all time? Don't Look Back (1967)

What film/s are you most looking forward to at this year's Sheffield DocFest? The First 54 Years... But it's usually the ones I'm not looking forward to that I enjoy most at DocFest

Frankie Fenton | Director / Producer

Frankie is an award winning Irish film director/producer. His debut feature documentary ‘IT’S NOT YET DARK’, narrated by Colin Farrell, premiered in the World Cinema competition at Sundance Film Festival 2017.
