Virtual Reality Programme call for entries for Sheffield DocFest 2025 is now open.
This programme aims to highlight new creative techniques and storytelling which break the boundaries of traditional documentary practice. We are looking for best pieces that explore the intersection between art, technology and documentary. We encourage entries from independent artists and collectives and from established artists or emerging new talent.
The selected projects will be competing for the Sheffield DocFest 2025 Virtual Reality Award. To get inspired, take a look at the films selected for the 2024 Virtual Reality Programme.
Before applying, we strongly suggest you read our Virtual Reality Programme Entry Guidelines for more information about what we're looking for and our eligibility criteria. Please note that we are only considering pieces that can be viewed on a Quest 2 headset, preferably as .apk or .mp4 files.

Virtual Reality Project
£40.00 + VAT
We welcome computer-generated simulations of immersive environments that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person using VR equipment, such as a head mounted display, controllers and sensors. Please note that we are only considering pieces that can be preloaded onto a Quest 2 headset.
